Q. When I raise support, where should the money be sent?

A. Please direct your supporters to send their checks directly to Metro Life Church. By sending it to the church, and not to you individually, they will be allowed to receive a tax deduction. See the sample letter in the support guide

Q. When is my application due?

A. The deadline for applications and $100 deposit is February 15th.

Q. Will my deposit count toward the cost of the trip?

A. Yes. When you make your deposit, we will apply that money against the overall money needing to be raised for your trip.

Q. When will I know what trip I am going on?

A. Our deadline for final trip assignments is March 1st. Aside from the possibility of last minute changes due to unforeseen circumstances, all teams will be set on this date.

Q. What is the minimum age requirement for Mission:X?

A. Minimum age requirements depend on the destination of the trip, as follows:

-    USA cities, 14 years old
-    International cities, 18 years old (or 16 years old with parent attending)

Q. Are parents allowed to apply for Mission:X trips?

A. Yes. Parents and students will be treated exactly the same with respect to the application process. Each parent must fill out a separate application form and raise the required funds for the trip.

Q. Are parents required to attend the same trip as their kids?

A. If a child is 16 or 17 and applies for an international trip, then the parent must attend the same trip (and raise the same funds). In general, we encourage parents to attend the same trips as their children, although we will consider other requests for trips to US cities and for children over 18. Students will be given priority when making decisions about team assignments.

Q. If my passport does not come in on time, can I still go on my trip?

A. No. Unfortunately, legal requirements prohibit us from allowing students to participate on trips without a passport. If your passport does not arrive on time, we will make our best effort to re-assign to a US trip.

Q. Will Sovereign Grace Churches be taking Mission:X offerings?

A. This will depend on the decisions made by each individual church.  Please ask your local pastor about the possibility of helping in this way.

Q. What if I cannot raise the necessary money?

A. It is important that each person raises sufficient funds to pay for their trip. There is no money being provided except what the students themselves raise. In the event that a student is unable to raise sufficient funds, we may look to re-assign to a less expensive trip so that the costs can be covered.

Q. What restrictions are there for luggage?

A. We are asking the teams to only bring one checked luggage with their personal items even though the airlines allows 2 checked bags. The reason for this is so we can have them check an additional supply bag for the trip. The airport restrictions are 70 lb for checked bags and 20 lb for carry on luggage.
