Do you sense the uprising? There are times when I think to myself that if we knew what God had in store for this generation, if we could somehow transport ourselves 15 years ahead and examine the plans of God, it would change our perspective on what we’re doing now and ignite our hearts with urgent passion like never before. What God is doing is historic and greater than we perceive.

Mission:X 2009
In Sovereign Grace churches throughout this region there is an emerging clamor, a growing sense of holy discontentment. It’s a desire to be given something to own, to take hold of something and run, to accept a challenge to do something hard and be used by God in powerful ways.
You might think of it as an uprising or a revolt of sorts. It’s a revolt against apathy and the lie of the enemy that says our generation should rest and take it easy. It’s a rebellion against the lie that says because our parents have labored so faithfully and built such a great movement, our goal is to simply maintain the status quo. The revolt is motivated by the fear of the Lord and based in the reality that each of us is going to give an account based on what we do and the work of our hands. God has stuff to do, and he is busily awakening a generation to assume ownership of the precious gospel and the mission of the church for His glory.
That’s what Mission:X is all about. It’s about impacting and edifying those we go to serve. It’s also about being impacted ourselves, and awakened to new affection and zeal for Christ. And get ready to be freshly filled with God’s grace and Spirit, because Mission:X is breathing down our necks again.
